can you fit 6×9 speakers in the rear side panel of a 1998 mitsubishi eclipse?

i have a 1998 eclipse and in the rear side panels, there are custom 6.5″ speakers. i kno the front side panel has 6.5″ speakers so they could go there, but i want to know if you can put 6×9′s in the rear.

yep. i did. you have to custom fit them however. i bought my 6×9′s and i realized they didnt fit.
You gonna need to take out that black plastic thing and cut the top and bottom of it so your 6×9′s can fit properly.
I believe its only 3 screws on each one but once you take them out you can cut a portion of that circle on the top and bottom to make it look more “oval like”
then install and your set!
