65 MUSTANG Exhaust Pipe Temp?

My 65 Mustang exhaust is 300 degrees is all that normal? Then I had my car idling in the driveway. In NO PROBLEM just afraid that my engine overheated, since I can not find where the engine temperature sensor on the engine 200 CI

It seems too cool for me. EGTS should be about 500-700 at idle and 700 to 900 * * cruising at low speeds, and any where in between 1.000 to 1400 * WOT
