Civic Flywheel
im wanting to replace my stock flywheel?

i have 98 honda civic ex in the flywheel has gone bad but would it be a good idea to put in a light weight flywheel most of them are 8 pounds ? in wat diffrences would i be getting with a light flywheel?in how hard is it to install a short throw shifter
so is a lightflywheel a good idea for a daily driven car ?

Ive Got A Civic 95 Coupe And Planning The Same And Have Done Lots Of Research Into This
As Others Have Mentioned A Heavy Flywheel Creates Alot Of Force On The Engine. This Force Is What Helps Keep Your Engine Spinning Going Up A Hill. By Lightening The Flywheel I Have Read You Gain No BHP Or Torque. But You Will Gain MPG Mainly Noticed Driving In Towns, Citys and Lanes Ect Where You Are Stopping And Starting. Motorway Driving You Will Hardly Notice A MPG Differance. But All In All You Will Have Faster 0-60/Accelleration.

As For The Short Shifter. Buy One. I Wouldnt Reccomend Cutting Ect. Cut Too Much You Won’t Get It Into Gear. Too Little And Their Won’t Be Any Differance. Its Not Too Difficult A Job. Just Take The Gaitor Off And Have A Look. You will Need To Get Under Your Car To Detach It And Attach The New One. If In Doubt Ask A Garage To Do It While Having The Flywheel Done, They Shouldnt Charge Too Much.

Good Luck Mate And Hope This Helps
